"CHROMAKOPIA. OUT NOW," he states, "kids, hair, time...Listen in full more than once. Thank you. Tell me about if anything stuck with you."
Between its punchy brass, strong basslines, clever lyricism, scintillating samples, and star-studded collaborations, Tyler, The Creator is right: "CHROMAKOPIA" deserves more than one listen in order to be digested fully.
The album features the likes of Daniel Caesar, Teezo Touchdown, GloRilla, Sexyy Red, Lil Wayne, LaToiya Williams, ScHoolboy Q, Santigold, Lola Young, and Doechii, along with Tyler himself. It's experimental, yet familiar enough to pay homage to past albums. It's catchy and upbeat while still holding space to explore heavy topics like love, childhood, and generational trauma. Some of the tracks even feature Tyler's mother and her advice to him, not only as a son, but as a musician.
